San Francisco, Calif.— Thursday, May 13, 2021 — The 21st Amendment Brewery takes an island vacation with their latest year-round release Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA (6.8% ABV). This “summery” companion of their iconic west coast Brew Free! or Die IPA and Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA hits shelves nationwide in 6-packs and 12-packs in July 2021. The Brew Free! or Die IPA lineup expands to include this refreshing tropical IPA with mega-juicy kettle hops and a harmonious blend of Idaho 7, El Dorado, Azacca, Mosaic, Amarillo, and Calypso dry hops.

“Our original Brew Free! or Die IPA has always been a bellwether of our craft beer selections since before it was even named that and just known at our San Francisco pub as ’21A IPA,'” says Shaun O’Sullivan, Co-Founder and Brewmaster of 21st Amendment Brewery. “We’ve had a lot of fun with Brew Free! creating a blood orange IPA and celebrating with a unique packaging design. Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA was built from the ground up with a lighter malt bill and a touch lower in alcohol giving this beer a refreshing tropical aroma and flavor. It’s a first-rate IPA and perfect for summer.”

“The package depicts Abe Lincoln with sunglasses on and in full vacation mode. His stuffy bowtie is replaced with a flower lei and the other Mount Rushmore Presidents are cheering him on against an aquamarine background that sets the scene. Every sip is like an island vacation!” says Nico Freccia, Co-Founder and COO of 21st Amendment Brewery.

Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA rolls out this month in 21st Amendment’s IPA Variety HopPack and will be available in all 33 states (6-packs & 12-packs) where 21st Amendment distributes in July 2021. For more information and to find some using their beer finder, please visit www.21st-Amendment.com.

That’s Some Kind of Magic

A Bright and Silky Hazy IPA with Citra, Mosaic, & Idaho 7 Hops Brewed in Homage to Brewpub Chalkboard Artists Across the Nation

San Francisco, Calif.— Monday, May 10, 2021 — The 21st Amendment Brewery and SF Giants baseball are synonymous with springtime in downtown San Francisco. 21st Amendment opened their Brewpub located 3 blocks from Oracle Park in 2000, the same year the SF Giants stadium debuted in China Basin along the Embarcadero. What better way to celebrate the official re-opening of the Brewpub and return of the SF Giants than with a special small batch release in their new series, the CHALKBOARD PROJECT. The exclusive SF Brewpub beer program theCHALKBOARD PROJECT features astonishingly fresh 21st Amendment limited-edition beers (16 oz. cans in 4-packs) that commemorate the creative minds behind chalkboard designs for thousands of beers at breweries across the country.

A silky and pillowy Hazy IPA, That’s Some Kind of Magic (6.7% ABV) is brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Idaho 7 hops by Shaun O’Sullivan (Co-Founder and Brewmaster, 21st Amendment Brewery). For 21 years, O’Sullivan and his brewing team have brewed hundreds of small batch beers on the 12-barrel brewhouse with each having originally crafted chalkboard art that hangs as the backdrop to the iconic SoMA bar. For the design of That’s Some Kind of Magic, digital illustrator Dylan Drebitko (@Drebitko_Design) hand-drew the mystical figure featured on the 16 oz. can emulating both the otherworldly uniqueness of the beer itself and distinct artwork.

“Since the day we opened our doors in 2000, we’ve been making small batches of handcrafted beer, experimenting with flavors and styles and ingredients,” says Shaun O’Sullivan. “Every new beer gets a fun name and a hand-drawn chalkboard plaque, introducing the beer to the public for the first time. The beer itself is art, and the art brings the beer to life. Our ‘Chalkboard Project’ is an ode to all of the artful and creative draft lists throughout craft breweries and bars everywhere. When the limited-edition 16 oz. cans are gone, it’s time to wipe the slate and start fresh. Live in the moment and enjoy them while they last!”

The 21st Amendment Brewpub is now open for indoor and outdoor dining seven days a week (Sunday – Wednesday, 11 am – 7pm/Thursday – Saturday, 11am – 9pm). The Brewpub is the perfect stop to and/or from the ballpark with many classic dishes on the menu such as Brewmaster’s Fish and Chips, Crispy Chicken Banh Mi, Brew Free or Die Chili, Buffalo Blue Pizza, Monterey Bay Calamari, Sully’s Cheese Curds, Totchos, and more! East Brother Beer Expands Distribution to Texas

EAST BROTHER BEER COMPANY EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION THROUGH FLOOD DISTRIBUTION, TEXAS’ ONLY STATEWIDE INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTION COMPANY

Courtesy East Brother Beer Company

(Richmond, CA) – May 5, 2021 – In its fourth year of making classic beers brewed to precision, East Brother Beer Company is proud to announce that it has expanded its distribution, in partnership with Flood Distribution, to include the key market of Texas. The brewery’s portfolio of core classics, plus the occasional small batch seasonal release, are now available in restaurants, bars, bottle shops, and grocery throughout Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

“When we founded East Brother we were committed to sticking with classic styles. In our industry it can be tempting to chase the next trend, but our gut told us to stay the course and it has served us well. With craft lagers on the rise, it feels very fitting to expand our offering to a state where lagers are a time-honored tradition, and to partner with Flood Distribution, a company that’s done so much for craft beer in Texas,” says East Brother Beer Co-Founder Rob Lightner.

“Flood Distribution is very excited to be representing the skillfully crafted beers from East Brother. Their focus on truly classic styles produced with excellent execution and consistency is increasingly rare in the beer world, and we look forward to sharing them with craft beer enthusiasts across the state,” says Flood Distribution Co-Founder Kyle White.

East Brother Beer’s expanded distribution to Texas follows closely on its fall expansion to Pennsylvania, the birthplace of classic lagers and American brewing. The independent, fast-growing brewery was co-founded by Lightner and Chris Coomber in 2016. The brewery’s team crafts stand-outs including a Red Lager, Oatmeal Stout, Red IPA, Gold IPA, and the award-winning Bohemian Pilsner: Silver Medal at the 33rd Great American Beer Festival, and Gold Medal at the 2019 California Craft Brewer’s Cup.

In 2018 on the heels of East Brother’s success with its core beers, the brewery zagged where others were zigging by launching a seasonal Lager Series to complement its portfolio. These smaller production beers are where the brewery experiments with innovation and creativity, often collaborating with local maltsters and hops growers to reprise centuries-old recipes like East Brother’s Pre-Prohibition Lager. East Brother also produces a seasonal Freighter Series featuring big & bold ales, among them a Russian Imperial Stout.

The demand for classic craft lager is growing. Based on a Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine 2020 readers’ poll, craft lager is up there with New England IPA as a style with staying power. In Texas, craft lager isn’t just a growing trend; it’s a time-honored tradition since the introduction of lagers in the 19th Century when German and Czech immigrants began settling the state, bringing with them the beer they loved to make.

About East Brother Beer Company

With attention to detail and long-term vision, East Brother Beer Company is dedicated to producing beers that are both timeless and timely, for the classic American palate, delivering their quality beers to premium restaurants, bars, cafes, specialty markets, chain and grocery stores. And always pouring fresh from the source in Richmond, California. 21st Amendment Brewery, in Partnership with Pink Boots Society, Releases “Moon Boots IPA” Nationwide

In Partnership with the Pink Boots Society, 21st Amendment Brewery Advocates for Women’s Careers in the Industry by Funding “Certified Cicerone Level-Two Course and Exam” Scholarships, and a “Women In Leadership” Certificate Scholarship (eCornell University) for Pink Boots Members

San Francisco, Calif.— Wednesday, April 21, 2021 — Though the craft beer industry’s demographics and workforce are evolving away from beer bellies and beards, there’s still much room for change to reflect the growing diversity of the craft beer consumer. 21st Amendment Brewery advocates for the advancement of exceptionally talented women in partnership with the Pink Boots Society for the limited-edition release of Moon Boots IPA. Coinciding with the nationwide release of Moon Boots IPA in April 2021, 21st Amendment Brewery is funding three Certified Cicerone Level-Two Course & Exam Scholarships and one “Women In Leadership” Certificate Scholarship at eCornell University exclusively for Pink Boots Members to apply for.

Moon Boots IPA was designed and created by an all-woman team at 21st Amendment Brewery. The project was spearheaded by Sarah Swafford (National Sales Manager), who says, “21A has been incredibly supportive of Pink Boots Society for many years and has participated in several Pink Boots beers. Moon Boots IPA was initially a small batch beer that we called Pink Brüts! and was brewed at 21st Amendment’s downtown San Francisco brewpub for International Women’s Day (2019). We developed the recipe and concept using the Pink Boots hop blend. When it was released, it was so well received at the pub, taproom, and participating accounts we knew it would be a great candidate for one of our nationwide limited-edition releases.”

Swafford has a long time connection to Pink Boots Society. “When I moved to the Bay Area, I joined my local Pink Boots chapter to connect with other women in the industry. It was such a great opportunity to support and learn from other women who worked in all facets of the industry: brewers, bar owners, bartenders, beer buyers, lab, etc. I found that Pink Boots offered me a great community and friends while enhancing my beer education that’s led to me elevating my career.”

“The women team members at 21st Amendment are an essential and vibrant part of our company and culture,” saysShaun O’Sullivan (Co-Founder & Brewmaster, 21st Amendment Brewery). “What’s a better way to celebrate this excellent group than with a beer uniquely designed by them. Releasing Moon Boots IPA on a national level is an opportunity to shine a big bright light on the important work of the Pink Boots Society and highlight the immense talent of the women on our team. At 21st Amendment Brewery, we want to be an agent of change in supporting Pink Boots’ members with four scholarships in 2021.”

21st Amendment Brewery funds three Certified Cicerone Level-Two Course & Exam Scholarships and one “Women In Leadership” Certificate Scholarship with eCornell University exclusively for Pink Boots Members to apply for. Swafford herself was a recipient of a Pink Boots Society scholarship.

The otherworldly packaging artwork for Moon Boots IPA was commissioned by renowned Los Angeles-based animation artist Robin Eisenberg (Instagram). Her portfolio revolves around celebrating sexuality and the diversity of women. The packaging for Moon Boots IPA features the creators envisioned as otherworldly beings.

Robin Eisenberg comments, “I’ve always loved celebrating women in my work, and working with 21st Amendment on this was so much fun! I think it’s amazing that Moon Boots IPA is not only recognizing women in brewing, but it’s also helping to create more opportunities for future women in the industry. So happy I could be a part of the project!”

Moon Boots IPA is clean, crisp, and brewed with pilsner malts, toasted rice, and strawberries. Hopped with Citra Cryo, Azacca, and Mosaic hops, Moon Boots IPA blasts beer lovers to another planetary dimension with its soft aromatics and refreshing strawberry notes making this a beer for stargazers.

Moon Boots IPA is now available in 6-packs in all 33 states where 21st Amendment distributes. For more information and to find some using their beer finder, please visit www.21st-Amendment.com.

We support all women of the industry, from those that own breweries, those that package the beer, that design beers, serve beers, write about beer, and everything in between. Berkeley, Calif.— Wednesday, March 3, 2021 — A premier East Bay brewery decorated with 45 medals awarded from top national and regional beer competitions (2015 – 2020), Gilman Brewing Company keeps its eye on the long-game with expansion plans set for early 2021. Gilman Brewing’s flagship production brewery and taproom in West Berkeley immediately increases its footprint to 13,800 square feet (an expansion of 5,000 square feet) while the official opening of their third location in downtown Pleasanton (706 Main Street) is set for March 2021. The brewery’s Daly City taproom (2001 Junipero Serra Blvd) will also re-open with a newly designed outdoor seating area in addition to its indoor restaurant (Gilman is the sole craft brewery to open a taproom/restaurant in Daly City).

Residing on Berkeley’s thoroughfare Gilman Street since 2015, Gilman Brewing has carved out a niche for themselves amid the crowded Northern California beer scene with its handcrafted rustic farmhouse ales, saisons, and massively hopped IPAs being among their most award-winning beers. Sean Wells (Owner/Brewmaster/Builder, Gilman Brewing) adds 2,000 square feet of outdoor seating as well as 3,000 square feet of additional indoor space at his West Berkeley locale to bolster health and safety protocols to better accommodate their dedicated patrons. Heated and covered outdoor tents will be utilized with a new menu debuting in spring 2021 that features an array of artisanal fries, wings, and chicken & waffles. Larger indoor capacity offers enhanced social distancing, and a new remodeled private event space in the barrel room available for bookings in late 2021.

The 2,500 square feet downtown Pleasanton taproom brings Gilman’s limited-edition beer releases never before available outside of the Berkeley brewery to the Tri-Valley region. Sean Wells collaborates with Brava Garden Eateryfor a New American focused lunch/dinner menu with dishes influenced by the husband-and-wife owners’ Italian/Argentinian roots. Gilman will further serve appetizers such as handmade pretzels, beer cheese, and other small bites. The 900 square feet outdoor patio is a signature of the Pleasanton location with its high trestles full of string lights destined for unforgettable beer and culinary experiences. Local bands will provide live music nightly until 9pm (outside) and 11pm (inside).

Gilman’s restaurant and taproom at Daly City located one block south of the Daly City BART station has kept its kitchen open throughout the pandemic cooking hundreds of meals daily for the Great Plates Program for San Mateo County. Initially focusing on Neapolitan-inspired pizza, Executive Chef Kurt Steeber now turns to a quick service menu of delicious burgers and sandwiches (Short Rib Burger, Salmon Rillettes, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Fishwich, Grilled Cheese), and salads and apps (Kale, Baby Beets, Cobb, Caesar, Buffalo Wings). Upon re-opening to the public, the indoor restaurant is accompanied by an adjacent 400 square feet enclosed heated outdoor patio. 20 rotating Gilman beers are on draught as well as a sophisticated wine list. Beer to go and their food menu are available through the Gilman Brewing Company app downloadable from the app store or google play.

Gilman beers are brewed at their state-of-the-art production brewery in West Berkeley; a space that now stretches the entire 900 block on Gilman Street. Wells and his crew transformed a former automotive radiator shop into the Berkeley destination that it is today. Gilman’s team of brewers, bartenders, musicians, and builders are devoted to taking the pretension out of craft brewing by representing their blue-collar spirit and fascination of workin’ on cars, motorcycles, metal, and wailin’ on Johnny Cash songs with the house band at the brewery. Live music is an essential part of the Gilman Brewing community as many employees are working and professional musicians. Neighbors to the historic non-profit music venue 924 Gilman, the brewery will have live music performances at both the Berkeley brewery and Pleasanton locations.

Gilman Brewing has been recognized for its premium IPAs, double IPAs, hazy IPAs, tart sours, fruit-forward beers, and a distinguished roster of singular California-inspired Belgian and saison styles. In 2020 alone, they received seven Gold medals, two Silver and two Bronze medals, and two “Best of Show” awards for “Beer of the Year.” In 2019, Gilman garnered 16 medals including five Gold medals at the California Craft Brewers Cup, California State Fair Commercial Craft Beer Competition, NorCal Brew Competition Sonoma County Fair, and USA Beer Ratings. At the New York International Beer Competition 2019, Gilman took home the highly coveted award for “California American IPA Brewery of the Year” (in 2018, the brewery won “California Saison Brewery of the Year”).

Built with working-class ethos and a dedication to brewing sophisticated beers, Gilman Brewing is a fiery underdog putting the East Bay beer scene on the map along with an array of its craft contemporaries.

About Gilman Brewing Company
Established in 2015, co-founders, veterinary orthopedic surgeons, and seasoned brewers Sean Wells and Tim Sellmeyer, as well as their best friend and professional musician John Schuman, opened Gilman Brewing’s production brewery and taproom on the bustling Gilman Street in West Berkeley (912 Gilman Street). Situated next door to the historic non-profit music venue 924 Gilman, Gilman Brewing Company brews beers with distinction for California craft beer fans while having loads of fun along the way. With almost 40 years of brewing experience between them, Sean and Tim found a common love for the nuanced, complex flavors of Belgian Farmhouse ales.

Together, the three friends transformed an old automotive repair shop with their own hands into the Berkeley brewery so many people enjoy today. They are a hands-on crew; no fancy suits or outside investors here. They build it themselves and fix it when it breaks…turns out they also love breaking things — especially common misconceptions about one of their favorite beer styles: saisons!

Gilman Brewing Company rotates 35 seasonal and annual beers throughout the year available both on draught and select special releases in 16 oz. cans. The 3,000 barrels of annual production is served fresh at its West Berkeley taproom, new downtown Pleasanton taproom (706 Main Street), and Daly City taproom/restaurant (2001 Junipero Serra Blvd). Hundreds of restaurants, bars, and stores serve Gilman Brewing beers throughout the state of California.

Gilman Brewing has been awarded more than 45 medals (including 17 Gold medals) at renowned California, New York, and national craft beer competitions since 2016. In 2020 alone, they received seven gold medals, two silver and two bronze medals, and two “Best of Show” awards for “Beer of the Year” (for Gilman’s Nectarine Saison, Champ Rochaux, and dark saison with brett, La Ferme Noir). Gilman Brewing is the recipient of two highly acclaimed awards, “California American IPA Brewery of the Year” (2019 New York International Beer Competition) and “California Saison Brewery of the Year” (2018 New York International Beer Competition). Gilman Brewing has taken home medals at California Craft Brewers Cup, California State Fair Commercial Craft Beer Competition, both New York and Los Angeles International Beer Competitions, NorCal Brew Competition Sonoma County Fair, the Brewski Awards, and USA Beer Ratings.

When not brewing their idiosyncratic beers, Sean and his team can be found performing live music in their adjacent barrel-aging room or workin’ on one of their never-ending projects expanding the brewery, installing larger fermenters, welding tap handles or trim for the taproom, or wrenching on their handbuilt ’69 Triumph chopper and the iconic company mascot ’66 Chevy pickup.

Fieldwork Brewing Company Expands San Ramon Location

Fieldwork Brewing Company Expands San Ramon Location With Increased Indoor Taproom Capacity and New Food Program at City Center Bishop Ranch

Berkeley, Calif.— Tuesday, February 23, 2021 — An ambassador for craft beer in Berkeley, California, Fieldwork Brewing Company expands its San Ramon location with an additional 900 square feet of increased indoor taproom capacity at City Center Bishop Ranch in the Tri-Valley region servicing the greater East Bay cities of San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, and Dublin/Pleasanton. The Fieldwork Taproom and Beer Garden at City Center Bishop Ranch will feature a 3,300 square feet indoor taproom and 2,700 square feet outdoor beer garden. Fieldwork Brewing at City Center remains open until their Grand Opening set for spring 2021.

“We are excited to expand our indoor space at City Center Bishop Ranch to add 40 additional seats and a kitchen so we can offer our patrons high-quality foods from our Culinary Director Jeffrey Amber’s new menu. City Center will be the latest Fieldwork location to feature our full menu, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide great menu items along with our fresh, locally brewed beer,” says Barry Braden, Co-Founder and Owner of Fieldwork Brewing Company.

“Fieldwork has quickly become a popular place for the community to meet and spend time. Everyone knows how good their beer is and we are excited that this expansion will allow them to introduce their food menu at City Center, which is equally fantastic,” says Alexander Mehran, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunset Development Company, Owner and Operator of City Center Bishop Ranch.

Lauded as a “Rising Star Chef” by San Francisco ChronicleChef Jeffrey Amber (Culinary Director, Fieldwork Brewing Company) leads Fieldwork Brewing’s food program following his pioneering work as Executive Chef at Bi-Rite, Culinary Director at MIXT, Executive Chef at Chow, among other restaurant ventures. For the Fieldwork Taproom and Beer Garden menu at City Center Bishop Ranch, Amber sources exceptional organic ingredients from Bay Area farmers to serve seasonally-focused dishes and support the local sustainable agricultural ecosystem.

The centerpiece of Fieldwork’s menu is Neapolitan-inspired pizza cooked with organic flour from Central Milling(Logan, Utah) and fresh whole peeled organic tomatoes sourced from Rob DiNapoli (Los Gatos, Calif.). Spring vegetables and artisanal meats shape the opening menu with 10 different pizza styles. Starters include many health-conscious options, and a children’s menu is available. The Fieldwork Taproom and Beer Garden at City Center Bishop Ranch full menu can be downloaded at this LINK.

Brewing well over 500 unique beers since opening its West Berkeley brewery in February 2015, Fieldwork brews with as much a sense of purpose as a sense of place as they honor Northern California’s magnificent outdoor landscapes with an array of idiosyncratic beers. The esteemed brewing team led by Head Brewer and Co-Founder Alex Tweet focuses on innovation for its ever-evolving roster of highly aromatic and well-balanced beers. Based on seasonality and consistent quality, Fieldwork forges its own path brewing beers they simply love to drink.

Walking into Fieldwork Brewing locations is never the same experience twice with their ambitious brewing program featuring signature IPAs, Double IPAs, lagers, pale ales, sours, stouts, etc. Bay Area regulars and out of town visitors can always rely on enjoying an onslaught of beer varieties with the tasting menu in constant rotation. Some beers reappear and others never repeat.

The Fieldwork Taproom and Beer Garden at City Center Bishop Ranch features upwards of 18 beers on the menu.
